There are a LOT of sites on Middle Eastern Dance out there, many of which have extensive lists of links to other sites. So we won't try and do that here. What IS here: sites we've come across and had time to write something about! Warning: totally biased opinions ahead!
Global Dance Arts Center - Web site of another Gainesvillian involved in the American Belly Dance scene; Libby Parker teaches classes and produces seminars.
Mid-East Manufacturing - "The Ethnic Musical Instruments Company." If you need a doumbek, this is where to get it! They also do repairs.
Morocco's Meanderings - Her site has tons of real information (and it doesn't take all year to load) and great reading -- unique stuff that you won't find anywhere else. Whether you are a beginning dancer, have been dancing since the Ark landed (to borrow a Morocco expression), or are just an interested spectator, go take a look. Everybody INTO THE POOL!!!!! P.S. All dancers who perform should read "If Prices Are up All Over, Why are Oriental Dancers Getting Less?".
Shira's "Art of Middle Eastern Dance" Resource List - Shira's (Julie Anne Elliot's) site includes an excellent links list (but check out the rest of her site, too).
Middle Eastern Dance Resource Guide - BIG site created and maintained by Kimberly Cyr. Has not only links to other resources but a lot of info available on site. Dig down into the "Culture" section for lots of good stuff. Well organized and kept up-to-date.
